Northeast Minneapolis Murals

I took the day off to hang out with the monkeys. I say hang out, but really I mean chauffeur them between art class and sewing class and piano lessons. Evidently, being a kid involves a lot more scheduling than I remember back in my day. I'm thinking I should invent an Uber/babysitting service and start collecting my millions.

Anyway, we had some time on our hands between activities, so we wandered around Northeast Minneapolis in search of murals.

Check out our finds.

Our first find was this Welcome to North East Minneapolis mural by Forrest Wozniak. (924 NE Lowry Ave).

This tattoo parlor knows really knows how to welcome their customers.

Our next stop was the community garden at the corner of Central and Lowry. This colorful Cultivate Northeast mural by Chank Diesel is the perfect backdrop.

This community garden has it going on.
All the gardening tools a girl could hope for.

Above: The Veggie Wall was designed by Mike Davis and painted by Chank Diesel and team. (also in the community garden at the corner of NE Lowry and Central)

According to a local shop keeper, this piece was painted by a guy who goes by the name "Nick". I think it looks pretty similar to the piece over by Surly Brewing. Anyone know the artist?

Above: this untitled piece by Nick Dahlen is in the alley of 3800 Central Ave NE. It looks similar to one over by Surly Brewing, so I'm guessing that one is also by Nick.

This slightly hidden mural in the same alley was painted by a different Nick, according to a local shop owner.

Not sure whose art is decorating the truck in the parking lot.

The gnome mother lode.

It was a fun little wander, ducking in and out of shops and restaurants to dodge the rainstorms. We only got to a fraction of the murals in the area, so I expect a follow up excursion to Northeast Minneapolis is in the cards.  Where should we go hunting next?
